After studying Graphic Design at Bath Academy of Art, he continued with further studies at The Royal College of Art. He has always loved to draw and particularly likes the freshness of line wash watercolour. He has recently concentrated on pencil drawings with a particular focus on portraiture. He has been commissioned to illustrate portraits of school children, and even musicians!
Jon has illustrated for the Weekend Financial Times, The Battersea Power Station Development Company and been commissioned by several design companies. As the owner of a beautiful classic car, he particularly enjoys the occasional classic car commission. But perhaps the majority of his commissions have been to illustrate architecture.
This includes churches, colleges, university buildings and private houses. He is a Fellow of the Society of Architectural Illustrators.
The casual lose style is underpinned by an in depth knowledge of perspective and proportions. The illustrations have strength behind the fresh application of colour; they are not laboured or overworked. Jon has an interesting and varied number of framed illustrations of different locations and subjects. If you would be interested to know more about what is available, please get in touch.
Jon is keen to undertake new commissions and would be delighted to hear from you. Kindly complete the contact form and he will get back to you.
